The hardest bars in popular piano pieces

In the 50 most-played pieces on MasterPiano, the hardest bar had a median 1.5 times the error rate of the rest of the same piece. Leaps, and bars where a repeated passage changes, stand out.

How we handle the data

Reports use only aggregated results: no names, no accounts and nothing about any one person’s playing. Every figure needs at least 30 different players behind it (the first report raised that to 50), only public pieces are included, and the MasterPiano team’s own accounts are left out.
