By accessing and using MasterPiano, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our service.

2. Description of Service

MasterPiano is a piano practice application that provides sight-reading training, progress tracking, and practice tools for pianists. The service requires a MIDI keyboard for full functionality.

3. User Accounts

When creating an account, you agree to:

Provide accurate and complete information
Maintain the security of your account credentials
Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
Accept responsibility for all activities under your account

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Use the service for any unlawful purpose
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
Interfere with the proper functioning of the service
Copy, modify, or distribute our content without permission
Use automated systems to access the service without permission

5. Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of MasterPiano are owned by us and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our express permission.

6. Sheet Music Licensing

The sheet music available on MasterPiano is sourced from the International Music Score Library Project (IMSLP) and consists of public domain works. This means:

The musical compositions are in the public domain
You are free to use, share, and perform these works without restriction
No copyright permission is required for the underlying musical works
Our digital renderings and interactive features remain our intellectual property

7. User Content

You retain ownership of any content you create using our service (such as custom practice pieces or session data). By using our service, you grant us a license to store and process this content as necessary to provide the service.

8. Subscriptions

MasterPiano offers an auto-renewing premium subscription ("MasterPiano Premium") that unlocks unlimited practice, the full curriculum, and PDF exports. The following terms apply to all auto-renewing subscriptions:

Title: MasterPiano Premium
Length and price: Monthly ($19.99 USD per month) or Annual ($149.99 USD per year). Local pricing may vary by country.
Payment: When you subscribe through the iOS app, payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase. When you subscribe through the web, payment is processed by Stripe.
Auto-renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period at the then-current price unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
Managing and cancelling: You can manage your subscription and turn off auto-renewal at any time. On iOS, go to Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions in your Apple ID account settings. On the web, manage your subscription from your account page in MasterPiano.
Refunds: Refunds for purchases made through the App Store are handled by Apple in accordance with Apple's refund policy. No refunds are provided for partial subscription periods.
Free trials and promotional offers: If a free trial or promotional offer is provided, any unused portion of the free trial period will be forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
Privacy: Your use of subscriptions is also governed by our Privacy Policy.

9. Service Availability

We strive to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time. We will provide reasonable notice for significant changes.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, MasterPiano shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from your use of the service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the past 12 months.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the service will meet your requirements or that it will be error-free.

12. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account at any time for violations of these terms. You may also terminate your account at any time by contacting us. Upon termination, your right to use the service will immediately cease.

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms. We will notify users of significant changes.

14. Governing Law

These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law principles.
